My mind is troubling me
 Thoughts engulf me
 An influx of emotions rush in
 the anger felt on my chest
 Shoulders tensed
 Thoughts of hate forming
 Images of a disgusted face
 makes the fist clenched
 Schemes suddenly appear
 To hurt 
 To cause suffering
 Then it dawned
 I am now taken back
 realising I was drowning
 dropping to the bottom
 of the abyss of thoughts
 of emotions
 submerged by sensations
 deeply unpleasant
 There is a recognition
 I am more than this
 I am untouched 
 I am unmoved
 I am that is aware of all these
 But unaffected by them
 Now focused on being 
 Being aware of being aware
 Suddenly it starts to change
 The ocean of emotion subsides
 Residues of pain remain
 But only for a while
 Now I am focused
 Totally on being aware
 I am realigned
 I am back to where
 I should be 
 Here and now
In stillness
In peace

I am both the dreamer and the character in the dream
When the dreamer is asleep
The character in the dream awakens
When the character in the dream sleeps
The dreamer awakens
The dreamer is peacefully resting
While the character experiences a journey
At first, the character believes the world experienced is all there is
Slowly the truth unfolds
As the character is struck by the truth
The dreamer awakens and knows it was only a dream
Now at ease
The dreamer awakes to another world
Another dream.

I truly am

I have accumulated
and grown accustomed to the concept
that I am the land I am from
The tribe and the lineage
I am the ocean on which my life depends
I am this name, this family
I am this order of offsprings
The link that unites different peoples,
different tribes
I am a father
a husband, a brother
I am this status, this held position
I am even all that I possess
I am all these things
But deep within
In my quiet place of solitude
Where I am not identified
by the appearances of thoughts and concepts
I am not any of these
I am ”no” thing
Not a thing or label
I am that I truly am
I am
